Board of Directors
CMHA Huron Perth Addiction & Mental Health Services is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our board members are volunteers with a passion for addiction and mental health with skills for leadership, policy development, and governance.
The board is comprised of a chair, vice-chair, and treasurer as well as a number of members. The Board of Directors is responsible for the general governance of CMHA Huron Perth.

Do you want to bring your knowledge and experience to a skills-based, equal-opportunity governance board that is committed to building a culture of health equity, inclusion and diversity?
CMHA Huron Perth is recruiting community members to join our Board or Board Committees. We are looking for community members with specific skills or experiences listed below. Previous board experience is not required but we are seeking representatives with one or more of the following qualifications:
- Legal or financial background and experience
- Health equity interests or experience reflecting the diversity of Huron Perth and including persons with lived mental health, substance use or problem gambling and gaming experience or their family members.
Responsibilities of the Board include:
- To attend monthly meetings and other meetings as required
- Keep current on issues that are or may impact the agency
- Approve agency policies and ensure they are adhered to
- Monitor the programs of the agency through the Chief Executive Officer
- Monitor and approve the budget to ensure proper use of funds
- Ensure all funding requirements, ie. reporting, are adhered to
- Develop and monitor the Strategic Directions of the agency
- Engage in opportunities to partner/integrate services within the health care system
- Evaluate the Chief Executive Officer
- Act as ambassadors for the agency
- Provide specific skills to the Board/agency to ensure success of the agency
- Ensure adherence to all legislative and contractual requirements of the agency, ie. Multi Sector Accountability Agreement
The Board of Directors meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at our main office in Stratford. Teleconference and Video conference is available. Other meetings may be required throughout the month. Members are elected for a three year term which is renewable for up to three terms, nine years in total.
