About Us

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Huron Perth Addiction and Mental Health Services came to be in January 2023 out of an integration of two likeminded agencies – formerly Choices For Change and Resilience Huron Perth – serving the same catchment area with community-based mental health and addictions care. Today, CMHA Huron Perth is a local mental health and addictions agency which provides a variety of services, including addiction counselling for youth and adults, mental health case management, peer support, court support, counselling for problem gambling/behavioural change, supportive housing, community withdrawal management and more. Our goal is to provide quality services and easier access for those impacted by mental health and/or addiction issues in the communities across Huron and Perth.

Vision, Mission, Values

Inspiring possibilities, empowering change

Provide individualized supports and system navigation to those affected by mental health and/or addiction concerns

We want to instill hope where individuals believe that their future can be better and that they have the ability to make it happen.

We want to foster independence where individuals experience freedom to be in control of their own life.

We are committed to value and respect individuals for their own sake, and to be ethical in our treatment of anyone who comes to our door seeking support.

We want to develop trusting relationships within our organization and with clients where we are seen to be an ally providing support that is known to be safe, reliable and harm- free.

We want to serve in a manner that does not leave any person, part or group out or excluded.

We want to be courageous advocates for those we serve, ready to support or defend those who are vulnerable.

Founded in 1918, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada. Through a presence in more than 330 communities across every province and one territory, CMHA provides advocacy, programs and resources that help to prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive.
